My girls love to dress up, especially at Disney. Queen Elsa is all the rage in our home, but the thought of my daughter wearing plastic shoes to the World kills me. So, we decided to decorate plain canvas tennis shoes for our day to meet the Arendelle sisters.
Initially we planned to dip them in dye, but my daughter preferred to have varying shades of blue, so we used fabric markers. Tulip offers a large set with 5 dual-tipped blue ones, which worked perfectly for her idea. The next time we decide to make costume shoes I will try this tie dye method I learned from Brook at Made in Michigan, using Sharpie markers and alcohol.
She added a hand-drawn bow in silver paint Sharpie and we dyed her shoelaces (much faster than coloring them with markers). To make them sparkle, we sprayed them with fabric glitter spray.
Now the outfit is complete 🙂
Have fun exploring the World!
